The R/V Fundy Spray is a 15.24 m (50 feet) converted offshore lobster boat certified by Transport Canada to carry 20 passengers and two crew. The vessel is well appointed with winches suitable to support sediment grab sampling, towing plankton nets, bottom trawling and dragging, trap retrieval, and deployment of other research equipment. It also serves as a spacious platform for scientific diving. 
 

R/V Fundy Spray is berthed at St. Andrews (New Brunswick) Market Wharf and able to berth at various ports in the Bay of Fundy area. The vessel and crew can stay out at sea for periods of up to seventy-two (72) hours. Specifics of the R/V Fundy Spray include:
 

• Constructed of hand-laid fibreglass of 38 gross registered tonnage (GRT) and 15.24 m (50 feet) in length.

• Outside working deck space of 6.4 m x 5.1 m (21’ x 17’) and covered deck space of 2.4 m x 4.8 m (8’ x 16’).

• Certified for Near Coastal 2, Limited Home Trade 3 voyages.

• Holds a valid transport Canada Safety Inspection Certificate to carry 20 passengers.

• Also certified as a workboat.

• Carries $5,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance.

• Equipped with:

  • 2 x 16 person life rafts and all other lifesaving equipment and apparatus required by The Canadian Shipping Act.

  • 1 x boom winch with an 884 kg (1,950 lbs) rated capacity
