Recommendations for Visiting Scientist Applicants
Aquarium Admission & Gift Shop Attendant
Location: Fundy Discovery Aquarium, The Huntsman Marine Science Centre, St. Andrews, NB
Commitment: Up to 37.5 hours per week anticipated from May through October 2025, including weekends and statutory holidays with some changes expected based on activities that will be communicated in advance.
Rate of Pay: Range starting at $15.50 per hour based on education and experience.
The Huntsman Marine Science Centre is a not-for-profit charity organization with a focus on ocean conservation and marine education and research. The Fundy Discovery Aquarium operates seasonally from May – October providing visitation and hands-on experiences for over 30,000 visitors annually.
Responsibilities:

Perform sales transactions for Aquarium entry, experiences, season pass/membership, and scheduled programs.

Greet guests and answer questions about the facilities, our programs, and the community.

Perform sales transactions at the Aquarium gift shop.

Re-stock items in the gift shop as needed while keeping it neat and tidy.

Assist with limited Aquarium operations, including opening and closing tasks and answering the phone.

Maintain program and regional tourism information within brochure stand.

Remain professional, friendly, and passionate at all times.

Maintain a neat, tidy, and organized work environment at all times.

Work both independently and within a cohesive team to deliver an exceptional Aquarium guest experience.

Ensure all health, safety, and security procedures are adhered.

Assist in any other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:

Proven initiative and self-motivated.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a group setting as an effective team player.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated customer service skills.

Effective oral communication skills in English.

Comfort using computer software to facilitate transactions.

Eligible to work in Canada.
Additional Assets:

Ability to communicate in French.
